David Liu

David Liu serves as an independent scientific advisor to Verdant and its clients. Dr. Liu is a Principal at Ramboll Environment & Health in Irvine, California and heads its Product Safety & Stewardship practice area in the southwest. He is also the Ramboll Health Science Global Product Regulatory Affairs & Stewardship focus area leader. Dr. Liu has over 30 years of experience in providing technical consulting services to multinational companies in the chemical, advanced materials, oil and gas, biotechnology, automotive, aerospace and other industries related to compliance with the Toxic Substances Control Act, Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act, Federal Trade Commission environmental marketing claims, and California Proposition 65. His regulatory compliance practice work covers the areas of general compliance assistance, regulatory submittals, enforcement support, compliance management systems building, training, compliance and systems auditing, and expert witness/litigation support.

Prior to joining Ramboll, Dr. Liu was a staff scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, a lecturer at San Francisco State University and a postdoctoral associate at Brookhaven National Laboratory. He is a member of the American Chemical Society and Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society. Dr. Liu is the author or coauthor of over 20 publications on inorganic chemistry, environmental chemistry and technology and advanced materials. He holds a number of US and international patents on flue gas scrubbing systems and advanced materials.

Dr. Liu received a BA in chemistry and biology from Wesleyan University, and his PhD in chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
